My body is an orchestra

Its organs staying in tune and in time with one another,

Like harmonizing instruments

Despite whatever imperfections lie inside of me,

My heart doesn’t give up

Its beat is steady,

The life song running through my veins 

I’ve had seasons where it feels like my heart wants to combust

Like one more hurt or disappointment will stop it in its tracks 

But I’ve learned that,

Though at times weary,

My heart is not weak

My heart is a warrior who stands her ground

She keeps fighting for love 

She keeps marching to the beat of life 

I’ve learned that my heart can hold more than I know,

And that it can also let go
